Our Story

Brief History

Matthew 16:18 — "And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell will not prevail against it."

With gratitude to God, fervent and enthusiastic prayer meetings and evangelism around the Ministries and Sport Stadium in the month of June 2008, Ultimate Christian Ministry was birthed on Sunday July 6th 2008 with twenty-three (23) members comprising seven (7) children and sixteen (16) adults. The strong desire of the congregation to see the church grow coupled with the grace of God resulted in the church reaching a membership of a hundred (100) by December 2008. Currently, we have a registered membership of not less than four hundred (400) members and still counting.

We have also been blessed with five vibrant branches at Weija, Nungua, New Gbawe, Amasaman and Glefe. Even though we started at the COCOBOD Canteen that was given to us by the then CSSVDU (now CHED) of COCOBOD, we have moved on to the MUSIGA Auditorium at the Ministries, Accra whilst plans are underway to acquire land in the capital for our own auditorium.

The church has embarked on various social intervention programs. A number of individuals have been sponsored to undertake apprenticeship courses, school fees are still being paid for students with financial challenges, books have been bought to assist students in their learning, examination fees have been paid for others to enable them write their exams, and free extra classes are organized periodically to assist the less academically endowed. Others have been supported with capital to boost their businesses.

The church also continues to make donations to institutions like the Osu Children's Home, Teshie Orphanage, Accra Psychiatric Hospital and recently the Weija Leprosarium as a way of supporting the less privileged in our society. This is in line with the church's vision of bringing transformation and hope to people, especially the less privileged.

What We Stand On

Church Pillars (Values)

  1. To worship God and seek to know Him and His Son Jesus Christ through the enabling of the Holy Spirit. John 4:23

  3. To spread the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout Ghana and any other country as the Lord may lead in obedience to the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ set out in Matthew 28:18-20 through gospel tract distribution, film shows, open-air crusades, house-to-house visitation, hospital and prison visitations, etc. Acts 1:8, Acts 20:20
  4. To open branches of the church in any locality to serve as the home church and disciple base for new converts. Matthew 28:18-20
  5. To embark on social action programmes such as establishment of schools, health institutions and training facilities for the needy in society in expression of our love for God and mankind. Galatians 6:2, Galatians 6:9

Doctrines and Statements of Faith

The doctrines of the Church shall be based on the fundamental truths of Christianity as revealed by the Holy Scriptures including:

  1. The sovereignty of God in creation, relevant redemption and final judgment. Genesis 1:1, Hebrews 1:3, John 3:16, II Corinthians 5:10.
  2. The unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19, John 14:26.
  3. The sinfulness and guilt of all men since the fall of Adam, rendering man subject to God's wrath and condemnation. Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23 and Romans 5:12.
  4. Redemption from sin and its consequences solely through the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate son of God. John 3:16, Romans 6:23.

  6. The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit to make the death and resurrection of Christ effective to the individual sinner, granting him repentance towards God and faith in Jesus Christ. John 16:7-11.
  7. The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 4:22-25.
  8. The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer. Romans 8:9-11.
